According to a report on Vision 4 TV, Pastor Ngoa Atangana Boniface, the pastor who had gone viral after he had made xenophobic utterances against Anglophones and Bamilekes has been arrested.

According to the report, his church which is situated at the Monté Jouvance neighborhood in Yaoundé has also been sealed by the police till further notice.

Pastor Ngoa Atangana Boniface had provoked a public backlash when he had referred to Anglophones and Bamilekes to be bad spirits that needed to be destroyed.

Cameroonians on social media have criticized the man of God and called for his arrest, especially with his words coming at a time in which the Anglophone crisis is at its peak.

Several persons have also revealed that this same pastor has made similar hateful utterances in the past. In one of the instances, he is believed to have delivered a supposedly possessed Christian, who told him the spirit inside her had been summoned by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji.

Among others, Pastor Ngoa Atangana equally asked students of his church not to agree to wear facemasks into examination halls, telling them it was a tool of the devil. These students heeded the pastor’s word and missed their exams.

The alleged arrest of the man of God to many is a clear signal to Cameroonians who are bent on inciting hate and division among Cameroonians.

Many believe that with the coming of the African Cup of Nations, Cameroonians more than ever need to be more united than ever.
