The student who assaulted a Discipline Mistress on the campus of Government Bilingual High School, GBHS, Nkoleton in Yaounde Monday March 28 has been dismissed. The student was dismissed same day after an emergency Disciplinary council meeting of the school.
The student whose nae MMI got only as Stella is said to have narrated that, she was granted permission to ease herself but the Discipline Mistress forced her back to class while she was headed for the restroom. This according to her, led to a fight.
The Minister of Secondary Education , Prof Nalova Lyonga, issued a press release Wednesday March 30 confirming the expulsion. In the release, she applauded the school’s Principal and the Discipline Mistress for their professionalism and dexterity.
“The Minister takes this opportunity to congratulate the Head of the establishment and the supervisor for their professionalism and the dexterity they have shown in the management of the said incident,” the release read in parts.
However, the expulsion of Stella has split public opinion, Some persons believe the Discipline Mistress should share the blame, while others hold the view that the entire blame should be put at the doorstep of the student.
