Yaoundé: Suspected murderers of lady calcined in her home arrested

The suspected murderers of Hélène Prudence Abomo, recently killed and burnt in her home in the Éleveurs neighborhood in Yaounde, Centre region have been arrested.

The arrests have revealed that it is the son of the colleague of Prudence Abomo who led the gang of assassins.

The charred body of the former employee of the sports and youth service at the town hall of Yaoundé 5, was found tied up and calcined in her bed, at her home.

The main suspect, Ma’a Joël Ludovic (26 years old) during interrogation revealed his close relationship with the victim. 

“Late Hélène was like a grandmother to me despite the fact that we were not related because she helped my little brothers and me in difficult times when we were left to ourselves, we had nowhere to stay” he explained.

Hélène Prudence Abomo lived alone.  She therefore asked the young man, who has lost his job in a station in the city of Douala, to come to her house from time to time to help her with household chores.  He is reported to have planned with three of his friends to carry out a robbery of her home which went wrong.  

The victim had just received the sum of one million francs.

“With my multiple problems, I thought about a coup that I could organize knowing that she lives alone and the period of the end of the month she often ends up with money,” the main suspect narrated.

Ma’a Joël Ludovic and one of his accomplices were found in possession of pairs of big brand glasses, a fan, a dryer, luxury perfumes, and gold bracelets among other things.

They have been charged and awaiting justice.
