An operation by elements of the Nlongkack Gendarmerie Brigade in Yaoundé has resulted in the arrest of three suspects believed to be specialized in the production of fake documents and stamps.
The said suspects were arrested in a building behind the office of the Yaoundé 1 Divisional Officer.
Following their arrest, they were presented before prosecutors at the Mfoundi High Court. They are currently under pre-trial detention at the Kondengui Maximum Prison in Yaoundé.
The group was arrested by the Gendarmes following several complaints from inhabitants of the locality where they operated.
After invading their operation area, the Gendarmes found the suspects in possession of several fake documents, stamps, photo cameras, forged seals of several Institutions, and the sum of 110,000FCFA.
Security sources say the proliferation of fake documents is becoming alarming in Yaoundé.
Elements at the Nlongkack Gendarmerie have also said they are ready to go to any lengths to fight this phenomenon.
