Two women recently kidnapped are reported to have jumped from the fourth floor of a multi-storey building in Essos, Yaounde, in an attempt to escape from their abductors.

Ngotono Christelle 31, and Maguelong Moukem Christelle 37, were abducted and held hostage in a furnished apartment, located in the above-mentioned neighborhood.

According to reports, the kidnappers demanded the sum of 250,000 FCFA which was handed over to them. However, they held the two women hostage, despite the payment.

“One of the hostages contacting a member of the family will send the sum of 250,000 CFA francs to the thugs but unfortunately will not regain their freedom as they were promised,” reported local media.

The Nkolmeseng brigade after interrogations revealed that the two ladies decided to flee while the kidnappers were asleep.

“One of the mothers was cushioned in her fall by an object while the second landed with her buttocks on the ground fracturing several parts of the body,” wrote a blogger.

The injured victim was later rushed to the Yaoundé Central Hospital by elements of the Mimboman army rescue.

During interrogations, one of the victims confessed to having seen human skulls in the apartment where they were kept.

In the course of a raid, a certain Koppa Tokoua Williams 37, alleged to be one of the suspects was arrested.

Another suspect, Bemmi Chimbi Ebenezer 38, was later arrested by gendarmes from the Nkolmeseng brigade in Mvan.

Investigations are still ongoing.
