Tanzania on Sunday May 22 bashed the Under 17 Indomitable lionesses of Cameroon by four goals to one. The game was the first leg of games counting for the qualification for the Under 17 FIFA World Cup.
The defeat to most supporters of the Cameroonian team was more humiliating given that it was played at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde.
The playground has served as a place for different sections of the national team picking victories in crucial games.
The Tanzanians first scored with Cameroon equalizing at the 27th minute but lacked steam to sustain the game.
The joy of the Cameroonians was later short-lived when Clara cletus, Tanzanian player later scored a hat- trick raising the tally to four goals for the visiting team and one goal for Cameroon.
The result of yesterday’s game has reduced the chances of the under 17 Indomitable lionesses picking a ticket for the world tournament billed for India later this year.
