Young Inventor Wirmbon Cedric Ndzeweiyi Develops Revolutionary Crop Slicing and Drying Device

A young Cameroonian Inventor Wirmbon Cedric Ndzeweiyi from Bui division in the North West region has taken the agricultural sector by storm with the invention of a device for the slicing and drying of crops.

The device which includes two electric machines separately used for slicing and drying crops has been attracting a lot of attention since its public presentation.

Cedric, during the public outing, said he was motivated by the hardship farmers in his locality go through to have their crops dried.

“Growing up in my community, I saw that people in my community are mostly farmers who find it challenging in preserving their crops,” said Cedric adding, “I saw the need of producing a machine that can help.”

The young Cameroonian who hopes to improve the innovation explained that “I produced an electric drying machine. When you plug on current it generates that is capable of drying the crops.”

“Once it is plugged in current, it produces a sound that also helps to generate air needed to evenly distribute the heat inside the machine and is able to carry out moisture away from crops you are drying. The process is gradual and when it is done, the nutrients inside the crops are of good taste and quality ” Cedric explained further.

Another innovation produced alongside the aforementioned is a slicing machine. Operated just like the drying machine, it helps in cutting crops into pieces.

According to Cedric, slicing is another difficulty noticed in his Community.

Apart from time wastage, the local method of slicing also put one’s fingers in harm’s way.

“This other machine is useful in slicing items like cabbage, onions, bitter leaf, tomatoes, Irish potatoes, and so on,” Cedric continued adding, “It slices whatever you want. You can regulate it to meet the sizes you want to slice for example carrots and Irish potatoes that you may want to slice in squares. You just have to change the knives”

“It is very fast and time-saving” he affirmed

These latest innovations MMI gathered need improvement to meet modern standards.

The innovator lamented that his greatest challenge is financing and he pleaded for public support.

“I will need financial support that I can be able to complete these machines that I have started so that it can meet a good standard in which to meet the needs of those who are really in need” he appealed.
