17-year-old killed by boyfriend
Audrey Nguele, a 17-year-old girl, lost her life in a tragic incident in Diang, a town in the Lom-et-Djerem division of the East region. Her lover had brutally beat her.
On Monday, November 27, 2023, the tragic incident took place when Audrey passed away from internal bleeding that her partner had caused during a violent altercation. Despite her family members’ denials, reports indicate that the Diang High School student had chosen to reside with her lover.
“Yesterday, November 26, 2023, during an argument, he violently beat her to the point where she lost blood,” disclosed Cameroonian Whistleblower, Paul Chouta.
Following the assault, Audrey was rushed to the Bertoua Regional Hospital on the same day, where she received five bags of blood. Tragically, all efforts to save her life proved futile, and she passed away early the following morning.
The perpetrator, identified as the student’s lover, has been apprehended and is currently under custody at the Diang Gendarmerie Brigade.
This devastating incident adds to the recent wave of violence against women, echoing the tragic murder of French and English teacher Diane Yangwo on November 18. Diane fell victim to a violent assault by her husband, Eric, who, upon returning home and discovering her absence at a clinic where their sick child was admitted, unleashed a merciless attack on her. Despite attempts to reason with him, Eric was subsequently apprehended and is now in custody at the Ngodi Bakoko Police Station in Douala, located in the Littoral region of Cameroon.
