A good number of African delegates who left their countries for the just-ended 2022 Commonwealth games are said to have gone missing.
The 2022 Commonwealth game took place in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8, 2022.
According to reports, several athletes and officials from international athletics teams went missing after the games.
The African countries concerned include Ghana, Cameroon, Botswana, and Sri Lanka in South Asia.
“We have received a total of 17 missing person reports from visiting Commonwealth Games delegations, 13 competitors, and four other members of the delegation,” the West Midlands Police spokesman said.
According to the West Midlands police spokesman, they are conducting surveys with immigration officers to ensure the delegates are safe and healthy.
