The Regional Delegate of Basic Education for the North West Region has officially released the results of the 2025 Government Common Entrance Examination into Form One of Technical Education.

Over 8,000 Candidates Registered in the 2025 Session

According to the communiqué signed by Regional Delegate John Njodzeka Kevin, a total of 8,217 candidates from 523 primary schools registered for the examination, which was conducted in 135 centres across the North West Region. This reflects an increase compared to the 6,746 candidates who sat for the exam in 2024.

Out of the 8,150 candidates who effectively took the exam, 7,069 passed in List A and 573 in List B, resulting in 7,642 successful candidates. This accounts for a pass rate of 93.77%, slightly higher than the 93.40% recorded in 2024.

“This gives a slight increase in the performance of 0.37%,” the communiqué noted.

Gender-Based Performance

The document reveals that 5,094 boys and 3,123 girls were registered for the exam. Among the 5,050 boys and 3,100 girls who effectively sat for the exam, 4,678 boys passed (92.63%), while 2,946 girls passed (95.03%).

“Comparatively, more boys than girls participated in the examination and qualitatively girls performed better than boys by 2.4%,” the communiqué stated.

Top Performing Divisions

Several administrative divisions recorded impressive results. Momo and Ngoketunjia Divisions achieved a 100% pass rate, followed by:

  • Bui – 99.04%
  • Mezam – 94.39%
  • Donga Mantung – 93.49%
  • Boyo – 91.04%
  • Menchum – 87.48%

Access to Results and Next Steps

The results have been made available at the Regional Delegation of Basic Education in Bamenda, all Divisional and Sub-Divisional Delegations, and through education secretariats and school principals.

“Interview programmes shall be scheduled by the Regional Delegate of Basic Education,” the communiqué concluded.

For more information, stakeholders are advised to visit the appropriate education offices in the region.
