A 47-year-old man identified as Ngafi Bowe Enock has been crushed to death by a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle, along the Douala-Nkongsamba High in the Littoral Region of Cameroon.
It is reported that the deceased left Tiko in Fako division of the South West region for Kompina in the Moungo division, Littoral region when the accident occurred.
The man, on his motorbike, was reportedly crushed by the vehicle which lost control while trying to overtake a 70 seater bus.
Witnesses’ accounts have attributed the accident to over speeding and the poor state of roads.
“We are begging government to repair this road, because we witness several accidents within a month,” an eyewitness indicated.
They went further to urge the government to make available speed breaker signs along the road stretch.
“Every day we see corpses, so we beg for speed breaker signs. We have asked them to drive normally but they won’t hear, so let the government do something about it,” another witness pleaded.
After the accident, the driver of the vehicle is said to have disappeared from the accident scene.
The late Ngafi Enock has left behind a wife and children to mourn him.
