Allowing President Paul Biya to present himself as a candidate in the 2025 elections would constitute both a betrayal and a travesty not only of the nation but of the president himself.
If his closest advisers and family enable such a move, they will be complicit in an act of profound cruelty and dishonour.
The only reasonable and patriotic course of actionโurged by all right-thinking and concerned Camerooniansโis for our 92-year-old, longest-serving head of state to take a dignified retirement. He should be allowed to rest quietly at his residence in Mvomekaโa, far from the suffocating grip of the power-hungry elite, exploiting his frailty for their own gain.
The time has come for Cameroonians to initiate a nationwide campaign aimed at identifying and denouncing these cynical loyalists who cling to privilege and push for an additional mandate for a clearly ailing president. This is not loyaltyโit is a cruel and calculated ploy to keep him captive, to extend their own relevance and access to power.

He should no longer be held hostage by a treacherous cabal of political oligarchsโa self-serving, parasitic lot that continues to drain the vitality of both the man and the nation.
The presidentโs continued silence, just three months before the election, is deeply troubling, especially at 92 years old and after 43 years in power. It suggests not only a dangerous power vacuum but also raises urgent questions about who is truly in charge. His ability to fulfil the rigorous demands of the presidency has clearly waned.
Now is the time to usher President Biya into a graceful and honourable retirement, befitting a man of his historic tenure.
Now is the time to free Biya and the nation from those who use his name for their own gain.
The time for change is not some distant hope. It is a present and urgent necessity.
Set President Paul Biya free and vote for change.
