PWD of Bamenda recorded an emphatic 4-1 victory over Stade Renard of Melong on Match Day Two of the MTN Elite One championship, in a thrilling encounter played at the Bamenda Proximity Stadium.

The Abakwa Boys dominated proceedings from the start and took the lead in the 28th minute through Ndonwie Fielding, who calmly finished after sustained pressure from the home side.

PWD doubled their advantage in the 41st minute when Fabrice Ndeh Nsoh found the back of the net with a well-placed strike, sending the home fans into celebration.

Stade Renard responded shortly before the break, pulling one back in the 45+2 minute through Jean Simplice Mbang, raising hopes of a possible comeback.

However, PWD restored their two-goal cushion almost immediately, as Aliyu Yaya scored in added time of the first half (45+4), giving the hosts a comfortable 3-1 lead at halftime.

The visitors’ situation worsened in the second half when Yanick Kamale received a red card in the 51st minute, reducing Stade Renard to ten men and tilting the balance further in PWD’s favor.

PWD took full advantage of their numerical superiority, with Junior Nguimbat sealing the victory in the 60th minute, calmly slotting home the fourth goal.

On match day 1, PWD suffered a 3-0 defeat in favor Opopo in Limbe.
