The Management of Radio Hot Cocoa in Bamenda has announced the disappearance of its Radio Technician, Akum Emmanuel.
Akum is said to have been taken into captivity by armed men believed to be loyal to the Ambazonia movement.

Emmanuel Akum is said to have disappeared between Radio Hot Cocoa and Mankon where his family is located.

“He left Radio Hot Cocoa Saturday at 14h00 heading for an appointment with his parents. He never arrived destination,” the Management of the Radio has said.

It adds that: “It was until Monday evening that the management of Radio Hot Cocoa got sketchy information of his ‘abduction’.”

Akum was reportedly riding his motorbike at the time he disappeared.

Akum is the Chief Technician at Radio Hot Cocoa.

“We appeal to anybody who can bring information about Akum’s whereabout to contact Radio Hot Cocoa as soon as possible,” an appeal states.

Journalists under the umbrella of the Cameroon Journalists Trade Union, CJTU have since launched an alert, requesting those keeping Emmanuel Akum to release him.
