Elections are now over, but elected officials might find it difficult running affairs in their arrears of command. Suspected separatists are said to have burned down the home of Muyuka’s Councillor, David Kalle.

The property was situated in Bafia village. “We know him as a black leg and betrayer of the revolution,” said separatist fighters said in a video shared on social media.

Seperatists had vowed to deal with politicians and voters who took part in the February 9th polls in Cameroon. They called for a total lock down and boycott during the polls.

The move was to mount pressure on the Yaounde government to address their grievances and draw the attention of the International community.

Election results in 11 constituencies in the restive regions have been annuled by the country’s highest jurisdiction.
