There was panic in Bonduma, Buea earlier today caused by gunfire. It was later revealed that the forces of law and order had opened fire on a group of young men in an uncompleted building, accusing them of being thieves.
A source however has a different opinion. “They are just boys in the quarter living in Bonduma… They got them well beaten and then shot them,” he says.
“They were smoking marijuana when the soldiers went there and shot them,” he explains further.
Images on social media show three of the victims lying in the uncompleted building with bullets wounds in their heads.
This is not the first time the forces of law and order are said to be carrying out extra judicial killings in the conflict hit North West and South West region. The killings of civilians in Bakweri Town and in Buea Town months back are only a few known cases of the excesses of security forces in Buea alone.
After government indicted soldiers for the February 14 Ngarbuh massacre, calls intensified for justice to be served in several other instances but government has maintained silence.
