The Local Community Development Association, LCDA, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency Alumni Association, KAAC, has given a helping hand to the people of North West and South West Regions driven out of their regions by the crisis.

Variety of gifts that amount to close to FCFA 6.5 Million were handed to Internally Displaced Persons residing in Yaoundé.

The distribution of the gifts was geared towards helping the Internally Displaced Persons of the Anglophone regions in Yaounde to cope adequately with the health and the socio-economic challenges posed by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Presiding over the gift’s distribution was the governor of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea. The governor advised the beneficiaries of the gifts to involve themselves in income generating activities so as to shake off the coat of over dependence on persons of goodwill for their own survival.

Equally present during the handover was the South Korean Ambassador to Cameroon, H.E. Kim Jong Han who equally extended his appreciation to the Cameroonian government for their efforts in stamping out the coronavirus pandemic from the country.

Other dignitaries present at the event were Eboka Mary Bokwe, President of KAAC and Njoya Kelvin, President of LCDA.

The IDP’s were very grateful for the initiative by the LCDA and KAAC and assured the gifts will be of immense help to them and their various families.
