Inhabitants of the Far North Region keep living in fear as the Boko Haram terrorist group, despite being heavily weakened, have continued to instill terror amongst the population.
The deadly group yesterday attacked Gabas Village in the Mayo Tsanaga Division, Far North Region leaving three dead and damaging property.
The terrorists fled before the arrival of the Cameroon security forces.
An inhabitant of the village, Ganava Jean has complained that the increased levels of insecurity, giving access to the Boko Haram terrorists have made them have sleepless nights for fear of imminent attacks.
“We live here in complete terror. We sleep with one eye open. There are times these enemies of peace come and attack us while we are asleep,” he complained.
The Boko Haram group has lost plenty of its fighters and weapons in the Far North Region, but they still have the possibility of rendering surprise invasions amongst the populations. Inhabitants of Gabas say these terrorists sometimes come in broad daylight.
Cameroon is believed to have moved soldiers from the front in the Far North and sent them to battle citizens in the Northwest and Southwest regions.
