Cameroonian government officials have raised concerns over what they say is indiscipline over the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a press conference yesterday, the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele said the lack of discipline was making government efforts go in vain.
The essence of the press conference, Communication Minister Rene Emmanuel Sadi said, was “..to remind citizens of the serious consequences of indiscipline…”
This, he noted, was “… detrimental to our response strategy”.
Minister Manaouda Malachie on his part said some parents have not been honest in handling their kids who contracted the virus.
“We screen school children, some are positive but some parents hide their results and let their kids come infect others in school” he said.
With the number of positive cases rising once more, there are fears government would once more instill another lockdown to fight the spread of the virus.
