Officials of the Army Rescue unit in Bamenda have identified the corpse of a woman who fell into a well at the Hotspot neighborhood at Upstation Bamenda.
The chief of centre Army Rescue Bamenda, Paul Taku disclosed that the corpse has been in the well for four months and was buried immediately after being retrieved from the well given its decomposed state.
“When the owner of the compound was cleaning the surroundings, he realized that somebody was inside the well. They alerted us and when we got there we did everything possible to remove the lady from the well” Paul Taku said.
Retrieved, the body, he said, “was immediately she was buried just 25metres from where she fell.”
Sources at upstation Bamenda say the said lady had gone missing and nobody knew her whereabouts.
Circumstances that led to the lady being in the well remains unclear as investigations have been opened by the forces of law and order.
