The Minister of Secondary Education, Nalova Lyonga has highlighted the need for community involvement and dedication to education.

“We need to have a new attitude towards education; that’s to say the whole community has to work to bring the schools within their villages to a very high standard,” she stated.

Minister Nalova Lyonga made the recommendation while visiting a school in Ntui, Mbam and Kim division of the Centre region as she launched the 2021/2022 school year.

Appreciating the institution for its assistance provided to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs from the North West Region, the Minister noted it was a worthy example to follow.

Also appreciating the infrastructure and quality of learning out at the kids’ disposal, she urged staff and pupils to remain disciplined and duty-conscious.

“This is a huge contribution towards endowing our communities with modern and equipped schools. I’m happy with what I’ve seen here because any school today without a correct science laboratory building, without a workshop is not useful to the people,” the Minister said.

Complex Scolaire Bilingue Le Miel, COSBIM Proprietor, Mingo Pius on his part, said the institution has as stronghold, discipline, among other values to be passed on to it’s pupils, among whom are IDPs.

“I discovered that so many internally displaced had relocated to Ntui and they were in a mess. Some of them after my visit to the locality told me they couldn’t continue because of lack of means; so I decided to create the school,” he revealed.

As a means of encouraging the IDPs, the school, he stated, has offered them a 20% fee reduction: “As at the start of this new school year, we have 120 students and 89 pupils who are IDPs enrolled into COSBIM”.

Mingo did not fail to brandish the wonderful performances recorded at the last General Certificate of Education GCE examination, describing them as “… a strong pointer to the quality education and high level discipline that exist in our complex.”

COSBIM, it should be noted, was originally set up and created as Mikellins Bilingual Comprehensive High School Bambalang in the Ngoketunjia division of the North West region. The institution was however forced to relocate due to the armed conflict in the region which caused the closure of several schools in the region.
