The governor of the North West region, Adolphe Lele L’afrique has condoled with the families of the four Penitentiary officials killed last Tuesday.

The prison officials were killed by suspected Separatist fighters in Kikaikom, Bui Division.

During the condolence visit to the homes of the victims at up station, Thursday April 14, 2022, the governor said the head of state, President Paul Biya has condemned the killing of the Warders.

“The head of state has condemned in strong words the brutal killing of our collaborators ad has instructed the security services to make sure those who killed and mutilated our collaborators are brought to book,” Lele L’Afrique said.

He also used the opportunity to announced that President Paul Biya has instructed that the victims be given a befitting burial.

While the governor was leading the Northwest administration to the bereaved families, some warders and onlookers could be heard saying “Look at the number of cars that are transporting people just to come extend their sympathy with the bereaved families, look at amored cars that could have been used to transport the victims to Bamenda safely turning around up station when they are needed to drive persons along dangerous routes.”

It should be noted that four Penitentiary administration officials on their way to Bamenda from Nkambe were killed and their bodies mutilated by armed men around Kikaikom in Bui Division.

Their remains could only be conveyed to the Regional Hospital Mortuary in Bamenda with the help of a priest and a family head.
