Rev. Fr Julius Simomia Njungwo received the befitting send forth from the Cameroon Catholic Community ((CAMCACO) West Midlands UK.
They were joined in the festivities by members of the Christian Women’s fellowship (CWF) of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon.
The Catholic priest has served the Cameroonian community in the UK for 7.5 years before his recent appointment as the Education Secretary for the Diocese of Mamfe.
Rev. Fr Julius Simomia says he is “thanking God for what has been a great mission, and he is looking forward to the new assignment in Cameroon with its challenges, especially the ongoing crisis.”
Speaking on behalf of CAMCACO, it’s president Mr. Simon Asafor said it was sad to see Fr Julius go, but acknowledged that it is normal since “priests are all missionaries”.
Many present described Fr. Julius as ”a humble dedicated servant of God, who has touched the lives of many.”
Fr. Julius appealed for continuous prayers and called on the community to be unrelenting in their support for him as he takes on the mammoth task of fostering the education of children in Mamfe Diocese.
CAMCACO is still awaiting the appointment of a replacement for Fr. Julius.
