Paul Atanga Nji, Cameroon’s Minister of Territorial Administration has ordered the relocation of a school following the recent landslide in Damas, a neighborhood in Yaounde, Centre Region of Cameroon.
On Sunday, November 27, 2022, a landslide occurred at Damas, claiming the lives of 15 persons.
While on a visit to the accident site on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the MINAT boss, accompanied by Paul Naseri Bea, Governor of the Center Region and the Prefect of Mfoundi instructed that the Firm Foundation Anointed Academy nursery and primary school “should be relocated with immediate effect.”
According to him, the school is located in a risky zone on a hill and relocating it will help prevent any subsequent tragic incident.
Minister Atanga Nji failed to mention whether his government will assist in the relocation of the school given that they authorised it in the first place.
