The Fundong Council in Boyo Division of the Northwest Region announced Friday that it has opened an emergency disaster fund to aid victims of a fire incident that consumed 56 shops at the Fundong market.
In a release published on February 3, Mayor Denis Awoh Ndang said the emergency fund that aims to garner funds to help the victims is being managed by the Council and the victims.
The Mayor said an electric fault could have caused the fire that consumed 56 shops at the Fundong Council Market, just after midnight on Friday, February 3.
“It was a few minutes after the return of electricity following a blackout suffered since Thursday, 2nd February, 2023,” Mayor Denis Awoh said.
