A devastating road accident shook the Bafoussam-Yaoundé axis on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, leaving at least six people dead and several others injured.
The tragedy occurred at Nkol Ebaï in Ebebda, involving a bus operated by the intercity transport agency, Leader Voyage, and a truck.
Eyewitness accounts described the collision as extremely violent, taking place near the Ebebda bridge.
Although the precise cause of the accident remains unclear, preliminary investigations suggest that one of the vehicles had lost control.
Emergency responders arrived promptly to provide medical assistance to the injured and secure the accident site.
This heartbreaking incident underscores the persistent risks on Cameroonian roads, highlighting the urgent need for heightened vigilance and adherence to safety measures while driving.
Authorities have since launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the crash and determine accountability.
The accident comes days after three people, including the Deputy Mayor of Mfou in the Centre Region, died in a ghastly car crash on the Yaounde-Nsimalen highway.
