AFCON 2021: Northwest Tourism officials invite tourists to visit the region

Ahead of the African Cup of Nations to take place in Cameroon in early 2021, Tourism officials in the North West region have announced plans to exploit the potentials of the region for the benefit of those who will be visiting during the upcoming African Nations Cup.

Despite the tourism potentials of the North West region, the region lacks roads and suffers from insecurity to access these areas.

According to the regional delegate of Tourism and Leisure for the North West, many pleasant surprises await those who will be visiting the region during the competition although the region will not be hosting any delegation.

He insists that the region is endowed with a lot of potentials to entertain its visitors. The lake Awing, the Bafut palace, Lake Oku, Lake Nyos, Menchum Fall, Bambalang lake, and the Oku Mountain forest.

Despite the security challenges, the regional delegate says the region has recorded a good number of visitors getting into the region.

Despite all the potentials, the worry of the tourism officials remains the security challenges the region is facing and the bad road network which makes it difficult to access the sites.
