After Mautu: another attack leaves two women dead in Lebialem
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

There is consternation in Fontem subdivision, Lebialem division of the South West region after the lifeless bodies of two women were discovered Monday.

In a video captured by locals who visited Nchang, a farmland locality where the ladies went to farm, the two women are pictured lying in their own pool of blood.

One of the victims was shot in the back, and another on the head, taking her brains out, we gathered.

No living thing was spared by the assailants, as even a dog tied to a pole in the yard was taken out with a bullet to the stomach.

Speaking after the incident, a local identifies one of the victims as Nkiagu Mado. The ladies, he adds, went to the farmland with a man but he is no where to be found at the moment.

“No one can tell exactly how it happened, but locals heard the sound of gunshots at night” he says, adding that the man who was with the ladies has either escaped for his life, or has been shot dead too.

While the perpetrators of the act are yet to be known, separatists and government supporters in the ongoing war have began pointing accusing fingers at each other, a similar scene after most rights violations in the minority English speaking regions of the country.

The killings come after another in Mautu, still in the South West region a week ago where close to 10 civilians were shot dead by men dressed in military attire.

Neither side has however issued a formal reaction to the gruesome murders.
