Paris Saint-Germain announced on Tuesday that Neymar has finalised his transfer from the French club to Al Hilal of the Saudi Pro League.
Al Hilal and PSG reportedly reached a transfer agreement on Monday for a sum of 90 million euros ($98 million).
The sum would be a record for the league, which receives funding from the oil-rich state, in its spending binge on top football players.
Neymar, a 31-year-old Brazilian football player, has apparently been given a two-year contract that will supposedly pay him about $100 million each year.
That would be around half of the stated wage for Ronaldo, who is 38.
On its social media pages on Tuesday, Al Hilal appeared to cite Neymar as stating, “I am here in Saudi Arabia, I am HILALI.”
