Nkum Council, located in Tatum, Bui Division of Cameroon’s North West Region, has been reduced to arshes.
The structure was razed Friday July 14, 2023 by yet to be identified individuals, a source told MMI.
Deserted since the advent of the Anglophone crisis, reports say, “Valuables were carried away and all archives gathered for years burned to arshes.”
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

However, some locals in the area have blamed Separatists Fighters who have routinely set structures on fire — in the seven-yearlong Separatist conflict in Cameroon’s Anglophone regions.
Local administrative authorities are yet to react.
