School kids and students who happily showed up in some schools across Boyo division especially in Njinikom and Belo subdivisions received the worst news at closing time yesterday September 8th.

They were told to stay home until there shall be an announcement in church or in the market asking them to come back to school.

According to leaked information confirmed by this reporter, separatist fighters have asked all owners of private school, the Catholic Church and the Baptist churches to demonstrate a fraternal gesture in financial terms before the schools shall go operational again.

Schools like St Bede’s College Ashing , campus A and B, St Marie Goretti Technical and Vocational College Njinikom, and St. Anthony’s primary schools are still shut pending the decision of the separatist fighters.

It is not yet clear when the schools will be opened again.

Many residents in Boyo are shocked by the decision of these separatist fighters because they have been encouraging back to school in the area and even encouraging the setting up of community schools. This comes at a time government schools in the area have been shut for years now and the few private and denominational schools that have been operating witnessed a geometric increase in new admissions recently.
