Agbormbouh Prizo, Chairman of the Presbyterian Church of Nchang, a village in Mamfe Central Subdivision of the South West Region has been buried alive by separatist fighters for allegedly wishing for their doom.
According to reports, Prizo was kidnapped on March 15, 2023, alongside two other persons.
The other kidnapped persons were released the following day while the chairman remained detained by the separatist fighters.
“Security forces are said to have clashed with separatist fighters a day before their kidnap. At least three separatist fighters are said to have died in the clash,” TGP noted.
“While they were working together on a farm, the topic of discussion sprouted about the military-Amba clash,” a source told TGP, adding that, “Agbormbouh is reported to have expressed the wish for security forces to restore order in the community.”
“In the course of their discussion, the chairman said ‘the way the Amba fighters are terrorising them within this period, he would have been happy if, during that confrontation, all of them were killed’,” the source went on.
It is reported that the separatist fighters demanded the sum of 100,000 as a ransom for the release of Prizo, before proceeding to bury him alive.
It should be recalled that the previous year, separatist fighters attacked the Catholic church of the locality, set it ablaze, and kidnapped Rev Fathers and Sisters who were only released a few months later.
