Anglophone Crisis: Tibor Nagy criticizes Cameroonian Government for continuous military action

Former Assistant Secretary of States for African Affairs of the United States, Tibor P. Nagy, has criticised the government’s strategy of reinforcing it’s military in the Anglophone Regions as a means of containing the separatists.

He reiterated via his Twitter account, that there is no militarily viable solution to the Anglophone crisis.

“So sorry to see increased violence in the Cameroon-Anglophone conflict. I’ve warned for years that if not resolved, conflict will get deadlier and spread. There is no military solution. What’s in the human spirit cannot be extinguished with force,” he tweeted.

Tibor Nagy’s comments come after violence in the two anglophone regions has escalated. Soldiers have become the prime target of separatists, with at least 20 soldiers ambushed and killed in the past two weeks.

Viral videos have made the rounds on social media, showing the government sending clear signals to separatists with the entry of full war tankers into the North West Region, only indicating that all will get worse from here.
