Apostle John Chi pays tribute to late TB Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations

Dear people of God, the earthly ministry of my spiritual father, Senior Prophet TB Joshua who now rests in the Lord as God planned before Creation was one with a difference.

“My Mentor, that you have been called home for eternal rest may seem implausible to the human eye because of the numerous acts of love you pursued, acts that have impacted the lives of millions of people around the world with my humble self as a typical case in point. Today, I am an Apostle of God thanks to God and to your skillful guidance and continuous counseling in the power of the Holy Ghost.

Your legacy is indeed alive.
Daddy, when I first met you at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in 1999, you did not hesitate to adopt me as one of your children. You quickly caused me to forget my unworthy background. This was evident in the keen interest you had in my spiritual growth.

As encouraging measures to make me forge ahead, you entrusted me with numerous high level tasks that could only come from a caring father that you have always been. In your quest for excellence, you taught us to be humble and never hesitated to refocus anyone, in love each time someone went astray as most children would normally do. At some point, the child may misconstrue the father’s act until the latter is no more. Thank you for your care.

While at the SCOAN, you caused me to rise to heights I never believed I could attain. From a mere builder, you ignited the preaching spirit in me and it began rolling. You did not just stop at that but raised me to the ranks of an evangelist before sending me to head different branches of the ministry in Africa.

This culminated with my coronation as ‘WISEMAN’, a proof that you believed in what I could do. And even when I became an Apostle, you did not stop playing your role as guide with regard to God’s kingdom issues. A million thanks can’t be sufficient enough. Just a few days to your departure to be with the Lord, you spoke to me and my wife and you encouraged us to always stand firm and to keep up the faith as we have been doing.

You then prayed with us. The sweet memory will last forever.
Away from me, you crisscrossed the world winning souls for Christ and putting quality smiles on the faces of the underprivileged. You catered for the sick, the down-trodden, widows, orphans, etc.

You knew that ‘faith without deed is dead’ as the Bible says. That is what I have learnt from you and will do all to perpetrate the tradition, as the Spirit of God directs.

Daddy, you were an epitome of love and lived each day as if it were your last. You were convinced that death to a good man was their early release from the imprisonment of this world. You equally posited that such a person did not cease to be, but was only removed from one world to another. That is surely what has happened to you.

My dear mentor, we loved you very much but God loved you more. As human beings with our human frailty, we are bound to feel depressed. But a look at your activities here below and the way you departed from this planet earth, we are filled with hope that the good God who sent you has realised that you have fought a good fight and have finished the race. The Bible says:

That is why God has called you home to where eternal joy and peace reign. You remain my mentor even in death. I promise to follow in your footsteps and maintain the faith. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace until we meet again!!!”
