The board chair Cameroon’s Telecommunications Regulatory Agency, ART, is demanding the services of a state security guard.

In a note addressed to the commander of the Mobile Intervention Police Unit (GMI) in Yaounde on Monday August 31st 2020, Justine Diffo says she has suffered several attacks since her  appointment as the board chair of ART last April 20, 2020.

She says “to ensure that I carry out my duties properly for the interest and vision of ART, I need security at my job site. Following unfortunate incidents that happened when I was appointed, I was subjected to all sorts of attacks most especially  on the media.”

Note that Justine Diffo, also national coordinator of the group  “More Women in Politics” was accused of being the brain behind fraudulent and tribalistic appointments at ART.

Serious accusations that urged the Minister of Post and Telecommunications,  Minette Libon Li Likeng to suspend the appointments for further investigations.

It remains unclear if the board chair of ART is entitled to a security officer at the office or it will be a special consideration given that Justine Diffo fears for her life after “several attacks”.
