The Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji has literally mocked victims of last Saturday’s flood which caused the death of at least two persons.

During a visit to Buea, the minister distributed household items ignoring the devastating effects of the floods which rendered hundreds homeless.

During the ceremony which took place at the Esplanade of South West Governor’s Office, Tuesday, minister Atanga Nji Paul, presented the Presidential humanitarian relief material to victims of flash-floods that swept through Buea on Saturday March 18.

The flood killed two persons and destroying properties and houses.

During his visit to Buea Tuesday , Minister Atanga Nji distributed material items including mattresses, blankets, desks for schools, bags of rice, vegetable oil, sardine, buckets and toiletries.

Little was mentioned during the visit on the general welfare of families whose houses were destroyed.

Residents have been describing the assistance as cosmetics measures as government appears to be shying away from the cause of the catastrophe. The incident has been blamed on poor urbanization in the city.
