Yaounde-based French Daily newspaper, Le Jour has been attacked by unknown individuals.
The men of the underworld ransacked the office after breaking through metal bars securing the building.
The incident which occurred on the night of Tuesday September 22, the media organ’s administration explains, came after earlier threats.
“This fact, which arises after anonymous threats over the telephone against certain journalists of Le Jour will not undermine our determination to fulfill our commitment to our readers and our partners” the organ’s hierarchy states.
Le Jour, it added, will continue to go to press and do its work “… with all the professionalism and freedom of mind to which we are attached. We know we can count on your support.”
Attacks on the press in Cameroon are fast becoming alarming. The state is not left out as many journalists are incarcerated for doing their job.
