AWCON 2022: Zambia, Morroco qualify for semi-finals, 2023 Women’s World Cup

Zambia and Morroco have qualified for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and 2023 Women’s World Cup.

The Chipolopolo of Zambia in a game last night beat Senegal 4-2 through penalty shoot-out after drawing 1-1 after the 120th minute.

Meanwhile, Morocco on its part beat Botswana, thanks to a 59th-minute goal by Yasmin Mrabet which gave Morocco a 2-1 victory over Botswana.

This, therefore, qualifies both countries for the semi-final stage of the tournament, automatically qualifying them for the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

The top-four finishers at the tournament in Morocco are expected to represent Africa at the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The two countries to follow Zambia and Morroco will be known tonight after the encounters between Cameroon and Nigeria and South Africa and Tunisia.
