A common initiative group in Bamenda is offering an award to Nana Terence, a resident of Buea who rescued five people during floods that devastated parts of the town last week.
Peace House CIG, as the organisation is called, announced on Saturday that it is congratulating Terence with a “Peace Certificate of Courage” for his bravery and humanitarianism.
The organisation’s Coordinator, Jude Nforngang, said they were “very happy to to learn about the great humanitarian emergency efforts delivered by Mr Nana Terence towards the March 2023 mass mud floating in Buea”.
He invited Terence to contact them so they could mail the award to him.
On Friday, MMI reported how Nana Terence braved the waters as they ravaged his neighbourhood to rescue five people, including his physically challenged neighbor.
His bravery reduced the death toll of the floods to two people. At least one person is said to be missing from the disaster which injured many and destroyed dozens of houses on Saturday, March 18.
