There is heightened security at PMI, a local hospital in Mile 2 Nkwen, Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon, following the assassination of firebrand SDF Senator, Barrister Kemende Henry.
Lawyers, judges and politicians are trooping in to confirm the death of Senator Henry Kemende Gamsey.
His corpse is awaiting mortuary clearance for subsequent preservation, a reliable medical source told Mimi Mefo Info.
He is said to have been shot on the left side of his heart by unidentified gunmen elsewhere, transported to town, and dumped at Nkwen.
“We cannot tell for now, who killed him and why, but we hear it was a robbery case. The gunmen took his car after shooting him around his heart,” said another source.
To many, he is the last firebrand SDF official referred to as the second Joseph Wirba who at several times held the National Assembly hostage to talk about the Anglophone crisis.
The late Senator and founder of Posterity Law Firm had taken up residence in up station Bamenda.
Investigations are said to be underway to ascertain why the SDF’s finest politician was killed.
