Bamenda: Population Accuse Separatist Fighters Of Endangering Their Lives

Inhabitants of Ntamulung, a neighborhood in Bamenda II SubDivision, North West Region of Cameroon have lashed out at one of the groups said to be fighting for the creation of a state they call Ambazonia operating in the area.

This was after one of the groups stormed the neighborhood on the night of Monday breaking Tuesday, September 27 September 2021, and painted the tar with colors that resemble the Ambazonia flag with ADF written near the colors.

“We only got up Tuesday morning to discover what the boys did in the night. This is putting our lives in danger. They know how government forces operate. If they come here now, we are in trouble. This is not fair,” a resident of Ntamulung told MMI.

He added that many have long left the neighborhood for fear of the unknown. He said the forces of Law and Order have not yet reacted and that, no one knows when they will come visiting.

We hear the same colors were printed on the tar in many other areas in Bamenda. We are told that it is part of preparatory activities to celebrate the day Southern Cameroonian activists believe the territory got her independence.

All these are happening as the population prays for first October to come fast and go so that, they can regain their normal lives after three weeks of lockdown operation called for by Non-State Armed Groups.
