Bamenda: Separatist Fighters shoot and kill election official

The District Head of the Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) branch in Jakiri, Bui Division, North West Region has been killed.

An MMI reporter has confirmed that Gilbert Yufola was killed on Wednesday evening at his Foncha Street residence, by Separatists.

His death comes barely days after President Paul Biya announced the holding of the senatorial election.

Separatist leaders like Ayaba Cho took on twitter to ban the senatorial elections in the restive North West and South West Regions of the country.

“The elections called by Cameroon on March 12 are prohibited…All facilitators of genocide and colonialism who attempt to legitimize foreign domination will be arrested,” Ayaba Cho said.

This is the third person shot dead in Bamenda in less than 48 hours.

The story is developing. …
