Mezam SDO Urges PWD Fans To Use Cameroon Cup Victory To Preach Peace

The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Mezam division, North West region, Emile Simon Mooh has called on the fans of PWD of Bamenda to use the club’s victory at the Cameroon Cup final on Sunday March 13 to preach peace.

He was speaking Tuesday as he welcomed the club’s fans at the governor’s esplanade at Up Station Bamenda. While he was making the appeal, some fans are said to have in low tune said the victory of PWD Bamenda should not be used for political gains.

According to one of the fans who identified himself as John Paul, the SDO wants to cause the population to start hating their team.

“Please don’t use politics to spoil team, it is the people’s team. Don’t anger people to start hating the team. Even separatist fighters have been supporting the team, it should not be used as a political tool,” he MIMI Mefo.

Another fan, Walters C. on his part said ” the SDO is right about peace, we all need peace, yet no one wants to do the right thing for peace to reign. Everyone is using but shortcut to peace, it can never work. Peace will only come if we stop fighting and start talking.”

The gospel of peace through football has also been preached this afternoon as the team returned to Bamenda.
