Gilbert Sunday Meyong, SDO for Bui in the North West Region has instructed that all public contracts in his area of jurisdiction be awarded before April 30. The action, he has noted, is aimed at preventing the recurrent problem of poorly executed or uncompleted projects. Kumbo remains a hotspot for clashes between soldiers and separatist fighters, with multiple projects abandoned due to the armed conflict.


A truck driver and his assistant today cheated death in an accident in Abombang, East region. Their truck ran off the road into a ravine. They both survived though the driver’s assistant had his arm injured.



Some members of Parliament have attempted to discredit a coalition established by their colleagues of the opposition. According to the laws commission, the coalition fails to respect some statutes of the National Assembly. Ironically, the four opposition parties concerned have just 16 out of 180 MPs .



Cameroon Cup Champions, PWD of Bamenda made their homecoming today. The Abakwa boys paraded the streets of Bamenda with their trophy as thousands cheered. They presented the trophy to their fans under tight security.


The PWD homecoming today again raised concerns on the nature of the Bamenda-Babadjou highway. The team bus for the first time for to Bamenda, but on the dusty stretch which often becomes muddy after the rains. With the rainy season nearing, many fear government will again ignore the road project.


Mezam SDO, Emile Simon Mooh has been chided by PWD fans for using their latest victory for political gains. The official while addressing the team today urged them to use their Cameroon Cup victory to canvass for peace. Fans however did not take this lightly, and went ahead to accuse him of attempting to use the celebration to score political points.



Cameroon’s Miss, Audrey Monkam Nabila has extended her appreciation for the support gotten during the Miss World 2021 competition. Audrey last night, lost at the semifinals of the tournament in Puerto Rico after making it to top 40. Poland’s Karolina Bielawska emerged Miss World 2021 winner.


Renowned artist, Richard Bona has torn his Cameroonian passport in solidarity with protesting teachers. Bona who has been a fierce regime critic tore the identification document in a recent video online. He also shamed ministers he said have dual nationality but won’t push for it to be adopted.
