Bar. Agbor Felix Bala demands accountability for human rights violation in the Anglophone regions.

The president of the outlawed Anglophone Civil Society Consiortium has called on the Cameroon government to take measures to bring to book all those responsible for human rights violations in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon. Bar Agbor Felix Bala in an audience at the Prime Minister’s office Tuesday September 24th stated that failure to ensure accountability will encourage more violation of human rights.

With the organization of major national dialogue in Cameroon purposely to resolve the Anglophone crisis, the president of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Africa, CHRDA asked that Anglophones should constitute a greater numberof participants than Fracophones at the dialogue table, a demand he says Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute accepted saying “two hundred out of the three hundred participants will be Anglophones”.

Bar Agbor Felix Bala also called for an inclusive dialogue. To achieve this, he is asking that presidential clemency and amnesty to be granted to activists for them to participate in the dialogue.

As concerns the form of state, Bar Agbor Felix called on the government to ensure that the form of state is discussed in the course of the national dialogue. The former president of Fako Lawyers association FAKLA has for over two years been calling for a return to federalism.
