Basic Education Minister Visits Douala Pupil Tortured by Teacher, Promises To Sponsor Him

A delegation from the Ministry of Basic Education headed by its Minister, Professor Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa paid a visit to Kemogné Isaac, the 9-year-old boy who was tortured by his teacher in a viral video days ago.


According to Basic Education Minister, they had been sent by the Prime Minister and Head of Government Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, who took compassion in the boy after watching the video of his torture.


According to the Delegation led by the Basic Education Minister, the Prime Minister has promised that the boy’s education will be fully sponsored by the state.

He also added that the boy will not only be assisted financially but also psychologically given the traumatic experience he had in the hands of his teacher.

A viral video that sparked outrage among Cameroonians circulated days ago, showing the 9-year-old being severely tortured by his teacher.

The teacher among other things was videoed forcing the boy to drink liquid pepper, then applying some on his skin after stripping him naked, and flogging him with a machete.

His fingers were also hit with a hammer by the teacher afterwards.

The instructor was arrested by the Gendarmes and detained.

He claimed he had been instructed by the boy’s mother to discipline him in school for stubbornness.
