The Yaounde archdoicese has accused Albert Roland Amougou; former bursar (financial director) of the archdiocese of being the brain behind the resignation His Lordship Victor Tonye Bakot.

In a strongly worded release signed by the His Lordship Jean Mbarga of Yaounde Archdiocese,he explained that dubious financial dealings carried out by Albert Roland Amougou to the point of producing fake documents in the name of Bishop Victor Tonye Bakot frustrated him to resign as bishop.

On how the church is taking care of Bishop Victor Tonye Bakot, Bishop Jean Mbarga says the church is respecting all her financial and material engagements to Carter for the former bishop of Yaounde archdiocese and his domestic workers just as it is stipulated in the Catholic Church in the world.
Beside this,Bishop Jean Mbarga says other Christians continue to offer material assistance to Bishop Victor Tonye Bakot for his upkeep.
Earlier at the weekend, Albert Roland Amougou made a publication stating what he called “a life of misery experienced by Bishop Victor Tonye Bakot after his resignation as a bishop”.

Allegations the Catholic Church has described as unfounded and baseless.

To the church, Albert Roland Amougou, former financial director during the reign of Bishop Victor Tonye Bakot directed huge sum of money of the church to his private account reason why he was dismissed.
Bishop Victor Tonye Bakot resigned as bishop of the Arch Diocese of Yaounde in 2013.

Since then, he is living in a family home according to Bishop Jean Mbarga.
