The President of the North West Regional Assembly says President Paul Biya’s 2022 end-of-year message to the nation was a glimmer of hope for the poor and the needy.

Fru Angwafo III made the pronouncement shortly after the head of state delivered his traditional end-of-year speech to the nation on December 31, 2022.

He opined that the head of state was holistic in his speech and plan of action.

“His speech was holistic,” Fru Angwafo III noted adding that, he started from the social point of view”

To the Regional president, the head of state gave hope to the poor and the needy as he promised additional funding to the ‘Safety Net Project’ that the North West region is already benefiting from.

“The poor and the needy in North West region should have hopes,” he went on saying, “he has stated that he will increase investments in the ‘Safety Nets Project’ and you know the North West is one of the regions that has been benefitting from since 2012 with good results”

“Though it will be done nationwide, it is a very good announcement, particularly to the North West region,” he stated.

On the region’s poor road networks, Fru Angwafo III expressed hopes as the head of state was particular about the tarring of Bamenda Babajou road.
