Inhabitants of Tourou in the Far North Region of Cameroon, say they now have nowhere to go after the latest Boko Haram attacks launched on them.

The downtrodden population have informed MMI that at least three villagers have been slaughtered by the terrorists, who now choose to dodge the military and pry on them in the mountains.

“…they ignore the military and walk over 2 kilometers to come and kill civilians hiding in the hills, they have also made it a point to loot out houses every night,” a villager told MMI.

The same phenomenon is believed to have been on for close to a year now according to the villagers of Tourou.

“…if we are to count the number of slaughtered civilians, they will be more than 100,” admitted our informant.

The military has allegedly done little to fight back these insurgents. Villagers say the military often resist firing at the terrorists, claiming they have not been given the authorization to do so.”…what they do is shoot in the air to scare the terrorists away.” MMI has been told.

Residents of Tourou say they have tried in vain to get the authorities to intervene in their plight. “…we would very much like to get Human Rights group to get involved, but we don’t even know from where to start.”

The state authorities have yet to give official reactions to the slaughtering of civilians by the Boko Haram terrorists.

The security in the region remains minimal despite the raging insecurity posed by the terrorists.

Even hiding is no longer proving safe for civilians.
