Brasseries du Cameroon truck accused of hit-and-run, which left cyclist dead

Inhabitants of Yoke, a locality in Fako Division, South West Region are in shock after a man was crushed to death and ignored by a Brasseries truck and its convoy.

According to our sources, the man was on his bike yesterday at about 4 pm when he was dragged off by an iron from truck belonging to the brewery company, Brasseries du Cameroon.

Eyewitnesses report that the same truck crushed the man and the driver refused to stop.

“People were trying to stop the driver of the truck but he just continued his way as though nothing happened,” an eyewitness told MMI.

The truck was being escorted by soldiers who witnessed the incident and also failed to act.

“Even the military vehicles that accompanied the Brasseries truck from behind, witnessed the whole incident equally ignored and continued their way,” our source further decried.

People in the locality are calling on the authorities to investigate and ensure that there is justice for the victim and the perpetrators are brought to book.
